We have a grave yard of engines in our Mercedes side. Just nuts, bolts, parts, and fluids man. Plus with the internet and yoytube DIY's, kids today got it easy. Independent shops can purchase dealer scan tools, special tools, and have access to their software catalogs. Car repair and cars in general are not as complicated are Top Gear has brainwashed people to be.

Bad Climate Control Module on your e36? There is a place on the other side of the freeway from my hose that fixes all automotive ecu's and modules.

Bad electric water pump on a e92 335i? Bavauto sells them cheaper than the dealer and has a DIY video on youtube that shows you how easy it is to replace.

ABS light on on your DB9? The local english shop down the street can to an ABS software reload for you at half the price of the dealer.

German cars are NOT forged out of uranium and hand built by the most precise engineers. Built by dudes and robots and like most modern cars, have a pretty low shelf life.

Compared to the Crown Vic and my Pinto, my E36 is damn complicated and yes, I have all of the books on each, and the internet for the bmw.

But getting parts for a car made in 76? Good luck.

lol as an ex owner or an e36 M3 and 325i, to me, an e36 is pretty dang basic. A bit better engine managment and suspesion geomerty than the Crown Vic but not by much. CV doesn't have heated washer nozzles thats for sure lol. Also, the evap is way easier to do than an e36 but access to parts doesn't mean it's more or less complicated. Like I was telling Brian Silverstro yesterday about how on DB9's and how you have to drop the entire powertrain and suspension just to get to the shitty wiper motors. Not because "typical european over engineering" nope, because they are fuckin dumbasses that didn't think that through lol. VW is clever in their ad's not forgetting to mention somewhere that they are selling a car that is German Engineered. LOL, that literally doesn't mean jack shit. But what ev's, that's just my grumpy mechanic mentality.

Cars = bolts, nuts, parts, and fluids. No souls.
